dust of soapstone harmful to the lungs?
Hi, I'm new to this group too. I was concerned about
rock dust and health--found this info on the net that
made me go out and buy a good mask when I am working in
dusty conditions. It is worth your health! They don't
cost that much. I got the kind with replaceable
cartridges and the whole thing was under $35 canadian.
Took a bit of time to get use to wearing it but my lungs
are much happier. I cough less.Rock dust is hard on the
lungs just through the abrasive nature of freshly cut
stone.
I am not sure how to connect everyone to this info. The
web page is: http://members.aol.com/fostrak/dust.htm It
is about inhaling rock dust. Very interesting. If anyone
has anymore information, please post it.
Thanks for listening.I enjoy the info I get from the
stone group.
