Poetry on Stone
Dear Vinay,
I actually have quite a bit of information for you on
the subject of Poetry on stone.
Perhaps you could send me your news letter:
I could then get a sense of what it is you are after. I
am a stonemason who now works in architecture. During
my graduate studies I researched historical stones and
scriptures. In addition, I have traveled to greece and
Ireland to find very interesting "poetry" inscribed in
stone.
In a more modern sense, Landscape Architect Robert
Murase of Portland Oregon has done a WWII Japanese War
Intern memorial which uses Haiku on standing stones set
in a stone berm. There is a recent book on his work
advertised in the most recent issues of Landscape
Architecture magazine.
.....anyhow. To be continued I am sure
Patrick Healy
