Dominic's statement (WAS Introducing myself)
Dear Dominic
I have read your statement. I could not find answers to
the following questions:
Why do you want to make art?
What drives you to hit a lump of stone with a hammer and
chisel? What do you expect the viewer of your work, who
knows nothing about you, to experience?
What questions are you posing with your work?
You did make some effort to explain your teritory but
your history of being an apprentice somehow got in the
way and made it read more like a CV than a statement.
This is not meant to be unkind in any way or indeed as a
critisism but you did ask for comment and I hope that
this might provoke some further thought about who you
are and what your work means to you and your viewers.
Best regards
Bill Urmenyi
