Old timers and trade preservation
I'm not in any way dissappointed, Kevin. Outside of the
context of someone asking for advice about pneumatic
hammers, your endeavours display both romanticism and an
admirable work-ethic. However, when someone asks for
advice on using pneumatic hammers and the advice you
give them is don't even use the word pneumatic, that
doesn't make sense. Clearly, your lack of interest in
pneumatics puts you at a disadvantage for dispensing
advice on the subject.
You've placed backward ways in quotes, although I never
used those words. Frankly, I wish I COULD AFFORD to
spend hours doing what modern technology allows me to do
in just minutes. The issue of modern carving techniques
versus preserved techniques is interesting and worth
pursuing, but this is a thread about pneumatic hammers.
Don't knock it till you've tried it. That's all.
Patrick
