I need help - geologist
Quoted text begins. My knowlegdes about rocks are in the field of the
Geology: their origin, composition, stucture and such
things. Do you think I should stay in touch with you all?
End of quote.
Well, I'm new here myself, but I for one am interested
in all aspects of rocks.I do carve, but, coming as I do
from a lapidary background, more with saws and abrasives
than the chisel and mallet approach.Last weekend I
taught a class in soapstone carving to a group of mixed
abilities(everything from some rather good animal
figures to "look mommy I drilled a hole in a rock". I'd
be particulary interested in learning more about the
formation of some of the materials we use, as well as
locations for collecting material.A lot of my favorite
"rock" never makes it into commercial channels.
A big "hello!" to the list. mrkat
