Geodes in Kentucky
Hello Sprout
I have read your message and, sorry, I only have
questions rather than answers for you.
Fist, can you tell me what is "Ky"?... is it
Kentucky?... I'm sorry, I'm from South-america.
Have you asked about this a local Geologist?
I think that it is a better idea.
About geodes, let me tell you that they are usually
located in very special layers. You must look for them
in very old (more than 400 millon years old) igneous
crystalline basementes, for example some zones of
Brasil... where to look for them, depends on the kind of
geode you want. There are geodes of igneous and
sedimentary origin. So, to better help you, I should
know the Geology of Ky: that's the problem.
Ask a local geologist. I'm sure that she/he will help you.
Daniel
