Dear Ann,

your hint is very interesting indeed - can you tell me
more? Like color mismatch, how fluid that glue was, what
product did you use - was it a two-component glue?

And never mind unasked questions...

As to marketing strategies in arts, I must admit I am
mystified. Art is so void of practical use... so how do
you market this? I have decided to try a variant of
relationship marketing rather than go through the
galleries ordeal: I made a shortlist of "potentials" -
potential buyers, multiplicators, critics, admirers,
and I try to give them an insight into my works, how
they came about, how my work progresses etc, so that
they see it with an understanding eye. I did that by
writing a letter and attaching a sketch of a work in
progress. After 5-6 weeks or so I'll send another with a
picture of the finished work, and of a few others. So
basically I'll keep them informed and I hope to be able
to raise awareness, interest and perhaps to get a
conversation going outside this circle. So far feedback
has been thin, but I believe the recipients wait for the
next mailing before reacting more strongly.

Someone suggested to me to make it clear to potentials
what the benefit would be of owning a work of mine, and
to take it from there. Now this is a tough one...

Does it make any sense to you?? Do you have any thoughts
on this?

Regards,
Andrei
