marketing strategies in arts (WAS Crumbling marble)
Dear Andrei,
Super glue is a very fluid one part glue. It was
initially developed for the medical profession to use in
place of sutures so do be careful because it connects
flesh to flesh very well. The other thing this means is
that although I don't try to wet the stone, this glue
can still function in a moist situation, so if your
stone has been wet recently it can still work.
I have use it on slate to prevent a delamination
when things are getting weak. It can create a line that
is a bit darker. I have seen it used in the sugary
places in white Yule marble. I never heard of a color
change. I'll ask around.
What a great marketing idea. I could see with
consistency your mailings would develop quite a
following, just because they want to see "how the story
ends." And since you are limiting the mailings to a few
key people it is not even going to be that expensive.
Do you send color postcards, xeroxes or photos? Plus
there is the added advantage of having a deadline.
Later - Ann
