marble dust / tooling up for a symposium
Hello Eric -
I envy you and the symposium project you are starting! All in seven weeks
and working a "straight job" too ...
I believe you can skip the marble dust issue with your angle grinder/saw. A
good quality half face mask is sufficient for marble dust. The diamond
blades in marble are quite durable. If you do decide to use water with
elictric tools, remember to use a "ground fault" protection device, and wear
rubber gloves and boots to keep out of the water and potential electrical
hazard...
Air tools do not have any electric hazard to worry about, so you may want to
use a air-powered wet grinder for polishing. (something like an
ALPHA -AIR-658) but you will need a sizeable air compressor (it needs 16
CFM ). If you don't have a large enough air supply, you may consider
renting a gasoline powered industrial air compressor.
A scaffold with a block and chain hoist may be useful for waste material
removal.
Sounds like a great opportunity, and a fantastic way to spend the summer.
Good Luck!
