Chisel query
(from a near-100% novice) -
Is there any reason why I cannot / should not use
bog-standard hardware-store masonry cold chisels to
carve limestone?
My local shop has a pretty good selection (unlike the
nearby Tiranti, who are in the process of de-stocking to
change supplier). The various chisels I've examined
look and feel broadly similar to some of the tools I was
using for the first time down at PSQT last month, apart
from being sharpened to a rather more abrupt angle at
the business end - which could, presumably, be rectified
by regrinding.
They seem comparatively cheap, so I have a sneaking
feeling I'm missing some necessary knowledge - can
anyone help?
