Search for a specific sculpture
Hello--
On some medieval cathedral, abbey, or other structure, there is a stone
sculpture showing a woman with a raised arm brandishing a rolling-pin,
standing over and threatening a man who is lying on his back, cowering on
the ground.
PLEASE tell me the where-abouts, when, why, who, what, or anything
else-about it, as possible.
And/or PLEASE tell me in what book did I once see a photographic reference
of it. I think the book's chapter discussed masonry portrayals of everyday
medieval lives of common folk.
And/or PLEASE lead me to any expert(s) who can answer this truly important
two-year-old search.
Any similar prehistoric or historic sculpture portraying gender
relationships and taboos would also be of great interest.
Thank-you very much.
