Black Marble/Limestone
Try Art City Studios, Ventura California, they've been mentioned before
here on the lists.
There is black limestone, and there are black marbles. Among the
hardest black marbles is belgian black - which is not to be confused
with belgian black limestone! For an unusual black stone - and a
beautiful carve (takes a beautiful polish), you might want to consider
chlorite. A good supplier is Randy Zieber at Neolithic Stone in
Vancouver, B.C. You can reach them at http://www.neolithic.com .
Good luck!
