You might want to go out to the Univesity of
B.C library and check out "Report on the
Building and Ornamental Stones of Canada"
Volume 5 (covers BC) by W.A. Parks. This
volume - published about 1912 and long out of
print, looked at the properties of all stone
being quarried in BC at the height of the
stone industry. Parks tested all the
properties of the stone and identified the
quarries. Another possible documentis "British
Columbia Dimension Stone" by White and Hora.
This was published by BC Energy, Mines and
Petroleum Resources from whom you should be
able to receive a photocopy.
