mallet or hammer ?
What do you hit your chisel with? Mallet? Hammer?
Dummy?
I attended a three day workshop to get an introduction
to stone carving - loved it and decided to continue.
The tutors advice was to use a mallet - less likely to
hit your hand that way (though I have since managed...).
Talking to a number of chisel stockists there seem to be
a greater range of tools without mallet head than with.
I would value any opinions about the hand held hitters
others find most useful.
