Hi Ned:

Under the "links" or "resources" item for Learning
Stone there is a reference to a supplier of tools in
Italy, Tabvlarasa ( [URL now obsolete].com/ ). They
have a hammer model you might be interested in: called
the F + K series. There are two different kinds, one is
the F+K Preciso-SE which produces a lower number of
strokes but a greater individual impact force, and the
F+K Preciso which produces a higher number of strokes
but has a somewhat softer impact. Within each model
there are three "classes" of power, or three types of
hammers for each. There are different piston weights
(diameter) and different piston strokes. Specifically,
the FK 702-FK703 models are for medium heavy jobs, and
you can use with or without air regulators. The FK5
model is a sculpting hammer which handles very heavy
work, like statutes, fountains, etc. The power can be
controlled on this model.

They also carry the bush hammers and wide chisels for
these. I have found their prices to be some of the
lowest, especially compared to what is available in the
US. The tools I have purchased from them have been
outstanding. I have dealt with "Stephano" at Tabvlarasa
and he has been very professional.

Hope this helps.
