Feelings
Hello Arthur,
It was interesting to read what you wrote about how you feel when you finish
a sculpture. I did not know how other people felt in this regard. I feel
pretty much the same way. I am a full time artist, I draw, paint, carve wood
and marble. When I finish a piece of work of any form, I feel almost sad
somehow. But, I feel more this way with marble and have sort of a don't know
what to do with myself kind of feeling.
I then begin a new piece immediately. Become very excited in the beginning,
comfortable in the middle, then very excited near the end, then that sort of
sad feeling when finished. Then the cycle will repeat itself. But, as you
said nobody ever seems to want to talk about it, or discuss it as much as I
do. I guess it is like telling stories about our children or grandchildren,
they just mean more to us. Thanks for your thoughts, Billy
