Feelings
Hi Arthur,
I have had similar experiences with my pieces initially. However, over the
longer term people do make repeated comments about different pieces that
they really like, etc. I think that at first look, people do not appreciate
the amount of time, care, and skill it takes to carve a piece of stone into
something beautiful. So they respond with comments that only scratch the
surface of the effort that was involved to create the piece. You on the
other hand, have spent time with the piece, caring for it and sculpting it
its final form and therefore have a much deeper appreciation for what it is
and what it evolved from.
Long story short, be proud of yourself for the work that you do and enjoy
whatever positive comments you receive.
