Arthur,

To me it was a process of learning to let go. Even the
desire of explaining to my (very limited) public what my
(very limited works) were about came down to the
recognition of the fact that this has to come from them,
not from me. So, when I finally managed to get my mind
blanked out of expectations of any sort I discovered how
much I benefit from unexpected views. Every single
person looking at what I've done sees something
different in it, and usually it was new to me.

So have I learned to let go: to be able to sell or give
away without regret; to accept that the meaning I have
put into things is not necessarily the meaning others
attach to them; even the perception of a very real form
or shape can be different, before and beyond any meaning
being added to it. I came to realise that I put children
into this world who are mine but who then begin their
own life. Habent sua fata libelli, they say about books,
but this goes for sculpture and all arts as well.

Regards,
Andrei
