belt sander
Elvin,
A beltsander has its uses, but its no good for getting into tight places.
One way I've used it, is to secure the sander in a vise and then hold a
small piece up to it, turning the piece carfuly. You could flatten out a
knuckle !!
You are not going to find one power tool that does everything. The most
useful tools I've found are a good variable speed drill and a heavy duty
electric grinder that I can screw different grinding wheels onto.
Good luck and get a good dust mask.

Being fairly new at all this, I don't have much
power equipment, and that's generally ok. But
I'd like to speed up roughing out the small
alabaster pieces I work on and, considering various
options, thought I'd get a belt sander.
End of quote.
