Inca masonry work

There are retaining walls in the U.S. built in the 1840's from 4' thick
granite blocks with 1/16" joints. It can be done, but most modern
construction isn't willing to work to those tolerances. I'm seeing too many
masonry firms that won't even do 1/4" joints in cut stone, they do 3/8". (6
mm and 10mm joints).
