Rust removal from granite
Hi Syd
Use muriatic acid which is a industrial grade acid. The metal will react
strongly to this treatment and dissolve.
However this works with surface contamination only. If you have a piece
with a deep intrusion of metal you will have recurrence of this stains
when exposed to the elements.
Make sure you saturate the surface of the stone with water before
applying the acid. Let the acid react for about one minute then use a
brush (don't use a metal brush) and rinse thoroughly. Repeat if
necessary. Do not let the acid dry on the stone surface. Wear protective
eye and skin (hands) gear.
Note that you do not apply these procedures with any sedimentry or
marble stones.
Its a naughty job good luck
