Hi Doug,
About the kentucky stones. It is not at all
like Indiana Limestone, more like marble, it
varies in hardness from quarry to quarry as
well as the color. Overall it tends to a dark
grey and can have flourite, calcite or
dolomite which is pink. The stone has a
tendency to be cracked because they dynamite
the stone, but if you are careful, you can
find some nice pieces to work. I would only
work with grinders and die grinders to prevent
opening cracks it takes a high polish and is
prettier than Indiana limestone. Goodluck
