Obsidian
I've never worked with obsidian other than in jewelry making but I remember
reading that it had been scientifically shown that the shards are so sharp
they can be used to perform surgery. This was to verify some anthropological
thing, but it also serves as a warning for those who are going to risk
fracturing it.
