Health hazards of serpentine and soapstone
I don't know much about serpentine but some types of soapstone have toxicity
beyond the hazard of dust inhalation. I mainly work with limestone which is
not toxic in and of its self but I always wear a respirator. I don't know
about your lungs but mine weren't designed to breathe stone. I imagine that
a respirator would take care of any toxicity issues with the soapstone.
good luck
