What makes marble hard or soft?
I can't resist this opportunity to tell all my personal theroy on the
question, what makes marble hard and soft.
It goes like this,,God made the stone hard when he was having a hard and
frustrating day. Black marble and ANY kind of granite was the result. He did
it just to torture sculptors that get too full of themselves! Indiana
limestone , alabaster, soapstone, and Italian marble were made when he had
just finished a good nap and really didn't feel like working all that hard.
Besides, he needed to have the easy stuff around just to get beginning stone
carvers hooked!!
Enough of this, I've got to go and tape up my fingers.
