Cracks in soapstone
Faisal,
you could wrap a piece of sandpaper around a wooden stick cut to shape and
turn it inside the hole until you reach the needed depth / width. You could
use a rounded rasp to widen the hole but this might be more dangerous as it
means to apply uneven pressure.
Your description is insufficient for me to go any further. Perhaps other
members of the group have more intuition :-)
In any case I believe you need patience. And a little bit of luck, too.
