Introduction, What is this stone?

Replying to my own message . I have three
pictures of the stone I am working on. If
someone could tell me what it could be, I
would appreciate it. The 09 picture is not
terribly clear, but shows the red staining.
My introduction also failed to mention my
complete lack of any stone or art or liberal
background. I earn a living maintaining
computer networks in a manufacturing facility
in Kennebunk Maine. My stone has brought back
some of the creativity I didn't know I had
lost.
