Has anyone else tried Boiling Alabaster to
obtain a cloudy/misted finish?
I read in some obscure book that this was
another way of finishing this wonderful stone.
I have tried this, gently bringing the stone
to the boil, you can watch the misting take
place.
Interestingly the viens of colour still show
through.
This also has the effect of diffusing scratch
marks on the surface.
I suspect there are problems with this approach
not for the faint hearted maybe.
