New Brunswick Alabaster
Hello Everyone,
I read some of your messages regarding Alabaster and
wanted to point out a unique type of Alabaster found
here in New Brunswick. I'm also working with a beautiful
green marble from Nova Scotia. To take a look at this
material, you can visit my page containing most of my
first pieces. I'm quite new at carving stone, although I
make pottery for a living. It was a great way to hone my
sculpting skills. I'd like to hear from others just
getting into what has been called the ' ultimate '
medium.
My choice of form and subject is entirely my own, yet I
often get asked if I am of native origin. Perhaps this
is because native art dominates the stone-sculpting
scene, at least in this region. I'm one of very few
carvers entering the picture here. Any suggestions on
how I could get more exposure would be appreciated.
Best Regards,
Rod Marquart, New Brunswick-Canada
