Casters
Andrea,
You can pick up industrial casters at larger hardware stores and there
is probably a local welder that for a small fee would weld up a frame for
your butcher block. Be sure to get locking casters.
I make all my own carving stands and have made a few for other sculptors in
my area. If you happen to be close by give me a call, I'll help you out.
Good luck.
I wonder if all the people on this list are like me, I would really like
to know "where in the world" you are "all" writing from.
As in, "Kevin Pembroke, living in the Cotswold town of Cirencester."
Kevin, are you in England or ??
It also would help in making suggestions, as to where to find tools,
stones etc.
Just a thought,

Quoted text begins. On that note, I have a question for the list. In Liebson's book, one of
the work surfaces he recommends is a butcher's block. Well as luck may have
it, I just happen to have a solid maple butcher's block sitting in my
garage. However, I need (want) a metal frame base with casters to attach to
bottom of block. I've been looking at some restaurant supply websites for
carts with casters, but I haven't found anything as of yet that will work.
Does anyone have any recommendations where I can look, or is this something
I might have to get custom made?
End of quote.
