stone inlays
Stone cutting blades for tension handsaws can also be made by burnisning
100 grit diamond bort into spiral wound steel guitar strings. Most of the
shaping of slabs for inlay can be done quickly on a water cooled diamond gem
faceters circular saw blade. I have had good results using a cheap dremel
vibrating engraving pencil (spring for the diamond tip) for precise small
scale carving of the background material. It is a good idea to undercut
edges a bit to provide a "key" to lock materials in place.
