gilding stone
Does this ring a bell for anyone?
An old stone carver told me he had read in Malvina
Hoffman's book about a method to apply gold leaf to a
stone using shellac. then you "fired" the stone.
I went thru the book and could find no reference to a
method like this.
I told my friend I would explore this a bit more'but I
cannot imagine firing gold leaf on a stone.
Has anyone heard of such a gilding method?
