fixing / glue lines
Hi
I have to get a seamless join on a Portland roach bench I'm making, where
the two legs attach to the main span. I plan to use a horizontal epoxy for
the pins (aluminium) and main areas of the joined faces, but I want to use a
carefully mixed mortar for the seam itself, to make it invisible, has any
one a good recipe? It will only fill a centimetre or two in from the edge,
the rest is glue, at least, that's my thinking so far.
Is it possible in theory, that a lime cement mortar could become as true as
the stone over time, so that it behaves in the same way and is
indistinguishable? This is not the function of a mortar I know, at least
from an architectural standpoint. But lime and lime sand will eventually
become limestone.
Fixing is very interesting to learn about. Does any one know of printed or
web based resource?
Any thoughts on any of the above very much appreciated.
Thanks
