Yes, Portland Stone is (to the best of my

London was built from it but even I remember how dirty it got because of the
pollution - that was over thirty years ago so I guess it is dirtier these

Not at all! A great deal cleaner, in fact. Less soot, less SO2 in the
atmosphere, fewer blackened gypsum crusts, and a lot of cleaned buildings.
