Hi Linda,

I live in Bloomington, IN which supplies a lot of limestone. Rumor has it
that the limestone for the Empire State Building came from a quarry just
about 3 miles north of us.

You mention you want a small order of limestone - a relative term. A few
years ago I called one of the local quarries and they said they had an area
where people could go and pick up pieces they were interested in, don't
remember the price, but it seemed very reasonable at the time.

Looking in the local phone book:

B. G. Hoadley Quarries: 812-332-1447
Reed Quarry: 812-332-2771

In addition Bedford, IN which is about 25 miles south of us, advertises
itself as the limestone capital of the world. You might want to try one of
the Internet phone directory services and search on quarries.

One thought, from one of the e-mail list I belong to I remember reading
that, some sculptors had said that fresh cut stone carves easier or better
then stone that has been cut and laying around for awhile.

Good luck, would appreciate hearing what you do.

Have a Great Day!

Jim Ek
