Info on slate
Dear Judy (and all)
Thanks for your response. I have had a lot of fun
following all the links you posted. Great info. I do
have that book and have made good use of it. I get my
slate from a Denver supplier that imports it from Italy.
I am going to get my next big order from Williams and
Sons in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania.
The work I have posted on my web site is tactile
fairy tales. These travel to museum, libraries and
events and so it is easy for me to direct people to the
web. Those are mixed media, I did them that way to make
it easier for people accessing the images only
tactually, to distinguish one object from the next. It
seem to work pretty well for a majority of blind people.
It all evolved from my slate bas relief work that I have
been doing since 1970. I don't have that work on the
web site but hope to get it up soon.
I look forward to seeing your book in the spring. Ann
