Santa came early this year
Anthony,
Your compressor should work just fine for air hammers.
There should be a regulator at the tank that will
allow you to adjust the PSI in your hose.
I found when I bought my very similar compressor
several years ago that their HP ratings are way over
stated. Consumer models seem to use an unloaded HP
rating. I found my actual HP was about half of that
claimed. I also found my SCFM was quite a bit less
than claimed (for a similar size unit to yours they
were claiming 12 SCFM, versus your reasonable 5 at 90
PSI). Plus to try to get to that rated SCFM they
cranked the motor to 3450 rpm, resulting in a very
loud compressor. Yours will be much quieter at half
the speed. I want it to die so I have an excuse to
get a new one, but also don't want to have to buy a
new one.
Waiting until next Christmas...
