Purbeck Stone
Oo, yes please, brilliant article.
You have said in the past that you are not a carver, so
come at stone from a different point of view, but I
understand you are involved with a 'National register?'
of stone.
So, to help us 'Newbies' perhaps a line or two on the
suitability of the stone in question for carving.
Hardness, weathering properties, etc, and perhaps the
common uses the particular stone is put to, so that one
might gain a greater understanding of just where a stone
lies in the great scheme of things. (some people are
never satisfied, are they?, but I was taught that the
only stupid question was the one that was never asked!)
Thanks again, for a great article, looking forward to
the web site.
Tony
