Purbeck Stone
Dr. Palmer and others who use UK stones,
In reading about Richard Kindersley's "Millennium Stones" (standing stones with
carved inscriptions), I thought the stone he used -- Caithness flagstone from
northern Scotland -- must be a type of slate. Have you written about Caithness
stone? Or would you add it to your list of stones used by artists? I'd love
to see your website. I've been investigating and writing about artists who use
slate and there is a wide range of quality and a number of ways to manipulate
slate into art forms. But then, since you are in Wales, you are probably
familiar with the uses for slate.
Thanks,
