Picking up the Pieces
Linda,
first of course my sympathy :-)
some of the answers to you so far say:
- stone lives, your piece wanted to be five little pieces - TRUE!
- consider making them into a family - TRUE!
- put them aside, cool off - TRUE!
- sit with your feelings - well, we don't NEED a broken sculpture for that,
but if it's there, at least it does that much good *g* - TRUE!
What worked for me in similar situations was either of:
- I took the hint and went with the piece in a totally different direction
- I put the fragments on the growing pile of fragments and some weeks or
months later they suddenly fitted into a new concept. I. e. distance
yourself from all that, let them "fall" into a new place. I hope you see
this metaphor, too.
Above all: it is normal, it is normal, it is normal!!!
My feelings reach out to you, chin up, the Carving must go on!
Regards,
Andrei
