Wood and Stone
Dear linda,
if you are using the combinations on indoor sculpture and the wood
pieces are small then you shouldn't worry much about expansion and
contraction. be sure the surfaces are some what roughened so there is
something for the glue to stick to.
as far as criticism is concerned, realize that there is a fine line
between constructive personal criticism and destructive self doubt learn the
difference! self doubt is the most dangerous thing for an artist! . when
designing a sculpture 'shake the tree and only keep the fruit that clings
firmly to the tree' Charlie Chaplin said that about film editing. above
all conceder your audience if you are not carving mainly for yourself then
why do it?
thank you all for helping me with the paper I did well on it and got a 'B'
in the class which is pretty good considering that this teacher works on a
five point system (95-100 = A...) thanks again.
by the way does anyone have any recommendations on artist communities where
an art student who isn't ready for grad school could go to live and polish
his skills?
Thanks in advance
