Close to the stone +
Dear Rick,
No I don't use the acid to create dissolved Pissanos. That was another
thread, I just like to have a pretty large arsenal of options available to
me, basically from a technical point of view I'm a carver first but I'll do
just about anything to tune a piece up to what I think it can carry.
I'm sorry I've spent hours writing addressing all the issues in your letter
to me but everytime I read it back I hate how it sounded .
I think I'll have to settle for somethings that may sound more like clichés
than anything else.
I'm driven by the idea of producing sculptures that stand instead of me when
I'm not around.
I firmly believe that great art always contains a balance between what is
seen and what is known, it must appeal equally to the senses and the
intellect.
I don't think human beings have really changed very much over time I get my
biggest buzz from seeing that the Greeks and Romans seemed to feel pretty
much the same emotions as us.
Regards Clive PS If I get the words sorted out better I may have another go
some time in the future.
