Hi everyone,

I thought I should add a bit about web sites, I too use Front Page but my
free server "Vicnet" does not accept the more exotic applications.

There are two main reasons why my web site/s are particularly useful
because:-

1. It is the very best way to give potential clients an easy pressure
free opportunity to have a quite look at my work.

2. It saves an immeasurable amount of time and effort in terms of
submission writing, particularly at the registration of interest stage. In
this country (Australia) it is very common for publicly advertised
commissions to contain a very strict list of submission requirements such
as, one A4 sheet explaining such and, such another for something else and so
on, it has almost got to the point that you always feel that you have not
been able to present your case appropriately because of the restrictions. A
web site can overcome all these problems.

I find that writing, "The best way to see if my work to go to "Google", type
in Clive Murray-White and press search.( a pretty comprehensive picture of
what I do) or click hehttp://www.cowwarr.com/CliveMurray-White/ and follow the
links",is quite enough.

I don't think my own site really needs a lot of updating but the one that I
have for my gallery / artist in residence program / consultancy business at
the Cowwarr Art Space takes a bit of discipline to keep it up to date. The
easy bit is saying what's on in the gallery, the hardest thing is
remembering to up date links when an old artist-in-residence does something
important.

I think the best thing that I did when I decided to go on the web was to
have separate sites for separate entities.

For that site I either say go to Google type in Cowwarr and press search or
click he http://www.cowwarr.com/

This brings me to my last point, making sure that people find your site! I
think I'm very lucky because, quite by accident, both my own name and the
name of the tiny little remote rural community that I live in, Cowwarr, (who
would ever have thought of spelling something that is pronounced Cowah with
a double "w" and a double "r") are unique so when people search for either
name in Google everything that we do comes up, sorry about the plug but I do
find Google the best place to search for just about anything.

Regards to you all Clive
