Soapstone carving
Quoted text begins.Leslie C. asked about soapstone in U.K. like Virginia Steatite.
End of quote.
I have seen material from Burlington Slate Limited in Cumbria, England that
has the characteristics of the Virginia Steatite.
I have cut some of this british stone and it is greenish/grey, homogenous,
works like the Virginia stone and holds up well outside. Perhaps somebody
can tell us more about Burlington Stone and the materials thay quarry.
