working with basalt columns
I am a sculptor working with basalt for the first time and would appreciate
any input on tools and techniques. I need to (unfortunately) remove the
patina entirely from one four foot column. My small sandblaster doesn't do
much to it and grinding is tedious. I'm considering renting a large
sandblaster, but would like to know how effective it is liable to be. I
also need to do some carving on another piece of basalt.
Thank you,
Calvin
