Storing Alabaster
I need some advise on storing uncarved alabaster. How do you store your
uncarved alabasters? My understanding is that moisture is the problem with
alabaster. But, since I live in a desert and rain is a non-issue, what
would be wrong with storing it outside, say on my patio? I can't imagine
why, but would either direct sunlight or temps in the 100 degree F range be
a problem?
Right now, most of my raw alabaster is sitting in my living room. As much
as I like stone and as much as I hate vacuuming, it really needs to be moved
to someplace more convenient. Hehehe.
By the way, I was just wondering how many uncarved pieces the rest of you
have sitting around. I've got 2 marbles, 3 limestones, and 5 alabasters --
some with specific ideas for them and some just waiting for inspiration.
Regards,
Linda
