I have mostly heard the faster is better theory. I use a 4,000 to
5,000 rpm speed on the harder stones with good success. However, I cut
with a center feed water swivel 100% of the time. And the blades make
a difference. I have one old cheap blade that just cuts right through a
basalt that another blade would hardly touch.
