Carvers mallet
If you're in the US, could try Woodcraft...or if by some strange quirk of
fate you're in Richmond, VA...Pleasan'ts Hardware has some that should work...
A woodworker's trick I've seen involves cutting the mallet in half, chiseling
out a hollow, filling the hollow with lead shot, then gluing the halves back
together again. gives the soft hit of a wood mallet, with some extra oomph
behind it. have no idea how that would work for y'all.
