Subject:
stone/sculpture lifting equipment
Hi Clive,
I have had the same experience with scaffolders- I just
tell them what equipment I need and put it together
myself. If the tubes flex, I add more braces.
The scaffolding standard states that there is to be no
more than 675kg load per scaffold bay (heavy duty, 5
planks), and that the maximum load on a 90 degree
coupler is to be no more than 630kg. However, the frames
can be strengthened with ladder beams and shoring.
You will not be suspending your load at a great height
so there should be less cause for nervousness on the
part of the scaffolder- however be guided by them. They
should have a fair range of equipment to choose from.
Could I suggest a crane company if you have no success
with the gantry I proposed?
Regards,
Simon
