tool marks
Hi Tomas,
Have you tried exfoliating the surface using an oxy-
acetylene torch with a heating tip?
It works well on removing stun marks in granite because
it's a hot-burning fuel that doesn't penetrate the stone
too deeply. If the heat does penetrate too far, it can
crack the stone so keep a water spray handy. Apply it
regularly to stop the stone heating up too much.
Keep the tip close to the granite so the hottest part of
the flame contacts the surface. The top layer of granite
will expand as it heats and can travel quickly as it
leaves the surface- you'll need protective safety
equipment.
If the tip 'blows back' like a firecracker, rub it
against the stone to clean the jets, or just let it cool
down for a while and rub the tip clean.
Have you tried a bush-hammer finish to evenly cover the
entire surface with tiny stun marks?
Regards,
Simon
